Coláiste na Toirbhirte celebrated an action-packed Seachtain na Gaeilge. Transition Year students kicked off the week with a flashmob dance to the well known tune ‘An Dreoilín’. First and Second Year students participated in a poster competition and produced some beautiful pieces of artwork.
Second Year pupils took part in a talent show as Gaeilge. First Year students enjoyed a Tráth na gCeist and were awarded with their Gaeilge24 certificates. In addition to this, as part of Lá Domhanda na Leabhar (World Book Day), this group wrote a review of their favourite books as Gaeilge. Transition Year students engaged in a sean-nós singing workshop. Fifth and Sixth Year students had fun at ‘tae agus plé’.
Seachtain na Gaeilge concluded with a Lá Glas, in which the school community dressed in green for the day. The money raised will go towards the Presentation Sisters in Chile. Festivities came to a conclusion with ‘rince agus ceol traidisiúnta’. A big thank you to all who participated and contributed to the above activities. Go raibh míle maith agaibh.
