Creative writing and literature club is designed to allow students to share, discuss and develop their own creative work such as stories, poetry and reviews in a constructive and supportive space. The club also aims to promote a further interest in literature through recommendations, sharing of extracts from novels and short stories, poems, clips from films. Students use prompts such as images, videos, audio or extracts to give them ideas on writing in particular styles, genres and areas they may have interest in but don’t always get the opportunity to explore in English class. The club will run competitions, public readings and look at sharing students’ best work and proudest achievements in literature throughout the school in a variety of ways.
Club meetings will be held for Junior students every Monday lunchtime in Room 16.
