On Thursday October 27th, six students from Coláiste na Toirbhirte participated in the local heats of the Soroptimist Public Speaking competition, in which five other schools took part. We are hugely proud of all six girls that participated and represented the school so brilliantly – Eimear McCarthy and Ailbhe Guedan (Fourth year), Holly O’Flynn and Martha O’Donovan (Fifth year) and Gemma Murphy and Cora Higgins (Sixth year). Topics discussed included democracy, female empowerment, and the environment. Both Ailbhe and Cora were victorious and qualified as the two speakers that proceed to the regional level of the competition. Well done to all!
