9Congratulations to our three groups who have qualified for the Stripe Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition! 🎉

Conor Cuffe, Leila Cummins and Kate Donegan are investigating When Ireland Runs Dry, exploring whether rainwater harvesting can provide Irish farms with a reliable alternative water source during periods of drought.

Ruby O’Halloran, Muireann Holland and Ally O’Connell are working on Save Time, Save Teeth, developing a hypoglycaemia treatment for people with Type 1 diabetes that minimises contact with teeth to help prevent tooth decay and gum disease.

Alannah Hickey, Aideen Calnan and Ellie Connor are behind CableShield, an underwater subsea sensor designed to detect potential damage to subsea cables from fishing trawlers and ships, alerting engineers so repairs can be made before further damage occurs.

All three groups are very busy preparing their projects for the exhibition, which takes place from 6th–9th January 2027.

Thank you to Ms. O’Driscoll, Ms. Cogan and Ms. Lynch for their help and support with the projects to date.
