Over the weekend, several students from our school participated in the Cork County Fleadh @corkcomhaltas , which was held in Brogans, hosted by @comhaltasbailenuis . Well done to our talented students, who won a wide variety of competitions during the Fleadh event.

Newcestown grúpa cheoil U18 – 1st place: Kathryn Reynolds, Grace Murphy, Orlaith Deasy, Abby Bradfield, Caoimhe Birch, Hannah Mai Canty, Aoife Dullea, Ciara Dullea, Aoibheann O’Driscoll.
Newcestown Céilí Band U18 3rd – Ciara Dullea, Aoife Dullea, Aoibheann O’Driscoll, Orlaith Deasy, Martha Coakley.
Ballinspittle Grúpa Cheoil U18 2nd – Róisín Curtin, Meadhbh Kiely.

Dancing Newcestown – Erin Condon, 1st in 8 hand reel, 2nd in 4 hand reel.
Newcestown U18 Trio 2nd – Aoife Dullea and Aoibheann O’Driscoll.
Multiple girls also took part in solo performance competitions: Orlaith Deasy (1st in lilting) , Grace Murphy (3rd in whistle) , Hannah Mai Canty (1st in whistle), Aoife Dullea (1st in concertina), Aoibheann O’Driscoll (1st in bodhrán, 2nd in mandolin, 3rd in drums), Ciara Dullea (2nd in flute slow air, 3rd in flute).
