On Sunday, the 22nd of January, Aoibheann O’ Driscoll and Grace Murphy won 1st place in the Ceol Uirlise category in Carbery Scór na nÓg. They are part of the Diarmuid Ó Mathúna instrumental group, and along with 2 others are now through to the county finals, due to be held in March
Our musicians contribute greatly to the Catholic ethos of our school and are very involved in all celebrations and school events. Throwback to September, when we had our first full school Mass since Covid restrictions. On that day we celebrated both Newcestown and Ballinspittle Comhaltas on their wonderful achievements in the All Ireland Fleadh, with a special presentation from Ms. Magner, Head of the Music Department, to the students. Our musicians contribute greatly to the Catholic ethos of our school. Congratulations to Newcestown Comhaltas who have just been announced as the hosts for this year’s Cork Fleadh which be held in Bandon in May.
