A butterfly lights beside us, like a sunbeam…
and for a brief moment its glory
and beauty belong to our world…
but then it flies on again, and although
we wish it could have stayed,
we are so thankful to have seen it at all.
On Friday, we unveiled Anne’s butterfly and paused to reflect on the memories we shared and the journey we have taken together.
The 6th Year art class came together to create something lasting and meaningful in memory of Anne, a clay butterfly to rest here on our tree, beside Anne’s bench and garden.
This special project was lovingly taken on by Madeline McSweeney, who designed and sculpted the butterfly with great care, dedication, and skill on behalf of the entire 6th Year group.
This butterfly stands as a symbol of remembrance, friendship, and joy. We would like to warmly commend the art class and all our 6th Year students for this beautiful tribute. You leave behind a butterfly here in Coláiste na Toirbhirte that will forever remind us of Anne — of her fun, her beauty, and the colour she brought into our lives.
