The group learned about historical figures including Patrick Pearse, Michael Collins and Daniel O’Connell, with each tour proving to be really informative and insightful – huge thanks to our wonderful tour guides at each site who made the trip so worthwhile! 🇮🇪

From identifying the chambers and valves to following the pathways of blood flow, our students showed fantastic curiosity, teamwork and scientific skills throughout the practical.
A huge well done to all our 2nd Years — you really rose to the occasion!

]]> 1st Year class of 2025-2026 https://presbandon.ie/1st-year-class-of-2025-2026/ Sat, 30 May 2026 15:06:13 +0000 https://presbandon.ie/1st-year-class-of-2025-2026/ The 1st year class of 2025-2026, finished their exams on Friday but had their official end of year graduation ceremony on Wednesday. And what a year it has been for them! The transition from primary to secondary can sometimes be difficult but within a few months of arriving, it felt like this group of students had always been part of school life. They embraced every school initiative, took part in their first Coláiste na Toirbhirte musical,  achieved sporting success in all sports, took active roles in our lunchtime clubs and activities and managed to fundraise over €430 for  Brú Colmbanus, through their ‘Feel Good Friday’, bake sale and lunchtime activities. They closed off the year with a trip to Kerry to visit Muckross Traditional Farms and Torc Waterfall. It has been wonderful to see them grow in confidence and make new friends as they embraced secondary school life! Wishing them all a happy summer

They first visited Torc waterfall, before walking through Killarney National Park to Muckross House. After lunch at Muckross House, they went on a tour of Muckross Traditional Farm where they learned about life on a traditional farm, as well as getting the chance to pet some of the animals there.
