1st Year class of 2025-2026

The 1st year class of 2025-2026, finished their exams on Friday but had their official end of year graduation ceremony on Wednesday. And what a year it has been for them! The transition from primary to secondary can sometimes be difficult but within a few months of arriving, it felt like this group of students had always been part of school life. They embraced every school initiative, took part in their first Coláiste na Toirbhirte musical, achieved sporting success in all sports, took active roles in our lunchtime clubs and activities and managed to fundraise over €430 for Brú Colmbanus, through their ‘Feel Good Friday’, bake sale and lunchtime activities. They closed off the year with a trip to Kerry to visit Muckross Traditional Farms and Torc Waterfall. It has been wonderful to see them grow in confidence and make new friends as they embraced secondary school life! Wishing them all a happy summer

1st year Tour

Last Wednesday our 1st years travelled to Killarney for a very enjoyable geography day out. They first visited Torc waterfall, before walking through Killarney National Park to Muckross House. After lunch at Muckross House, they went on a tour of Muckross Traditional Farm where they learned about life on a traditional farm, as well as getting the chance to pet some of the animals there.

100th Anniversary Celebration of the Eucharistic Procession

LGFA Medal presentation

Munster Minor and regional winners medal presentation today. Thank you to all the girls who made the year so enjoyable and fun for all the coaches and helpers throughout the year.

Well done to Orla Collins who received her Munster final POTM award today.

Thanks to all the teachers who helped throughout the year Ms. Murphy, Mr. Hutchinson, Mr. O’Driscoll, Mr. Deasy, Ms. Creedon and Mr. Minihane.

Munster Schools Track and Field success

Yesterday, sisters Leila and Ruby Cummins, along with Fiona O’Brien, represented our school, Coláiste na Toirbhirte, in the Munster Track and Field schools athletics event in Castleisland.
Ruby placed 2nd in her long jump event and 1st in the 100m hurdles in the senior age group.
Leila came away with gold and a Munster record hammer throw of 59.11m in the intermediate group.
Fiona placed 2nd in the Junior Girls 100m Sprint.
A huge performance from all three girls, well done.

Gaelbhratach

Comhghairdeas dár gCoiste Gaeilge a bhuaigh bratach inné ag searmanas Gaelbhratach a bhí ar siúl i gColáiste Mhuire gan Smál, Luimneach. Rinne na cailíní seo obair na gcapall chun an Ghaeilge a chur chun cinn inár scoil i mbliana. Maith sibh!
Congratulations to our Irish Committee who were awarded a flag at the Gaelbhratach Ceremony in Mary I Limerick yesterday. The girls did great work to promote Irish in our school this year. Well done.

Minor Munster football champions

A great first half performance saw CNT leading by four points at the interval. A commanding second half display from the squad secured a 9-06 to 0-13 point win over Colaiste Choilm on the day.

Girls Soccer through to League Final

Well done to our 1st Year Girls Soccer Team who took on Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí in the league semi-final today. The girls put in an excellent performance and came away with a fantastic 2–1 victory!

Roise Walsh scored two excellent goals during the match to help secure the win.
The girls now progress to the league final where they will face Gaelcholáiste Mhuire. Best of luck girls!

2nd Yr raises over 1000€ for charity
